How Cigars Impact Your Health

A few years ago, a customer tried one of our mild blends and was deeply impressed by the experience it offered an hour of pure enjoyment. Shortly after, he reached out through our website, asking me directly about a concern that had been on his mind:

How risky would it be for me to start smoking cigars?

It was an honest, thoughtful question. I took my time to reflect before responding because it deserved more than a simple yes or no.

I began by asking him a few questions of my own:

  • How often do you eat fast food?
  • How much time do you spend on social media or watching TV?
  • How often do you exercise?
  • How much time do you dedicate each week to just being with yourself, reflecting on life?
  • How often do you use a microwave?

Can you feel the difference between living in a fast-paced big city and the slower rhythm of a small town?

After thinking it over, he replied, “Yanko, I understand what you’re saying, but I’d still like to hear your opinion.”

So, I shared my personal experience based on over 20 years of smoking cigars.

Every week, as a cigar smoker, I pause time. I sit down, unwrap the cellophane of a handcrafted cigar, take in its rich aroma, carefully cut it, and do a cold draw to savor the subtle flavors before lighting up. Then, with slow, intentional puffs, the ritual begins.

Well those who embrace this lifestyle are often deep thinkers. Whether alone or with like-minded friends, smoking a cigar is more than a habit; it’s a ritual. Imagine doing this three times a week:

You’re not glued to a screen. You’re outdoors, present with nature, observing the sky, your surroundings, and life itself.

The natural nicotine in well-fermented tobacco slightly lowers your blood pressure, not to sedate you, but to heighten your awareness, anchoring you in the moment.

As you sit there, reflection comes naturally. You think about the past not just in 12-month cycles like taxes, but over five-year spans. You measure personal growth, acknowledge changes, and plan for the future.

This, to me, is how cigars have impacted my health not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. They give me space to reflect, dream, and reconnect with myself and others.

Consider the ripple effect:

You’ve been thinking about improving your health, maybe losing weight.

During a cigar session, you meet a firefighter, a police officer, an architect, people who balance work, family, fitness, and still find time to enjoy this ritual.

Conversations flow, ideas spark, friendships form, and inspiration strikes.

All of this, thanks to a handcrafted cigar. A product infused with the passion of countless hands, made with heart and purpose, just for that moment of reflection.

So, how do cigars impact health? For me, they offer the chance to pause 3-4 times a week, to spend time with myself and with friends, to discuss life, dream, and commit to being a better version of who I was five years ago.

I’ll leave you with this thought: we’re grown-ups, living in a world where we have the freedom to choose how we treat our minds, our bodies, our families, and our communities.

How might joining this lifestyle impact your health and your life?

It’s up to you.
