A member of the Maceda family will be at the airport to meet you. That person will assist you in the process of exchanging your American dollars into Cuban peso known as the CUP. After the exchange, necessary for purchasing anything in Cuba, the family member will escort the traveling party in a comfortable eight passenger van that will keep the group together. The day begins with breakfast at the Restaurante La Herradura which is a five star rated establishment in Havana. After breakfast the tour party will head out the family tobacco farm in the pristine Pinar del Rio. You will walk among the tobacco fields and learn from members of the Maceda family as they detail the journey from seed to cigar. We will then depart to the cigar shop La Casa del Habana of the Miramar section of Havana. Long regarded as the best of all cigar shops, it is an excellent place to enjoy a rich cigar in preparation for a day of historical exploration in Havana.

We will begin with a walk down the ancient Avenida de Maceo sometimes known as El Malecon. This wide road stretches for five miles behind a seawall that winds along Havana Harbor. A member of the Maceda family will serve as docent telling the story of the buildings and history in Old Havana.
Along the way we will enjoy the colors and sights as the culture of Cuba is on display in the square’s art fair.

That afternoon we will arrive at the Plaza Vieja. Close your eyes as the guide tells you the story of how the Spanish colonized Cuba sixteenth century. Open your eyes to see how the Old World charm has greeted each successive historical period in this architectural depiction of majestic Cuba.
Explore each building, document your journey with photography, and get lost in the wonder of this jewel of the Caribbean.

On this last night of the tour we will once again drink mojitos and smoke cigars.
